Hamworthy Utd and the FA Cup

The Hammers are 17 seasons into the quest for a visit to Wembley! With the loss at Hartley Wintney last week another year passes but a milestone was achieved, a 50th game in this famous competition so time for a few stats to while away some time.

So far, Hamworthy Utd haven't found it too difficult to progress through at least 1 round, only succumbing to an Extra Preliminary Round defeat on 3 occasions (2006/07, 2011/12 and 2014/15) and are currently on a 6 year streak of winning at least 1 game per season.

The furthest the Hammers have progressed is the 2nd Qualifying Round, achieved 3 times (2007/08, 2008/09 and 2013/14) and each time losing to opponents much higher up the Non League ladder.

Rounds reached:

Extra Preliminary - 3 times

Preliminary - 5 times

1st Qualifying - 6 times

2nd Qualifying - 3 times

How has the draw treated us? Quite fairly! There have been 43 ties drawn and 22 times Hamworthy have been drawn at home and obviously that means 21 times away. Currently on a 4 year streak of bring drawn at home for the Extra Preliminary Round, which always helps.

The playing record to date reads:

Played - 50

Wins - 26 (incl 1 walkover)

Draws - 7

Losses - 17

Goals For - 84

Goals Against - 76

Biggest Win - 4 goals (2005/06 v Backwell Utd 4-0 and 2010/11 v Elmore 5-1)

Biggest Loss - 4 goals (2017/18 v Thatcham Town 1-5)

Hope you enjoyed reading a few of those stats, look out for a similar FA Vase one soon.
