Dorchester Sports 1 Hamworthy Utd 4

On a blisteringly hot afternoon, Tim Sills was able to field an entire team of fresh legs for each half. Crit Clarke had to leave the field during the first half with a rib problem after a clash with an opponent. Apart from that it was a competent performance against a hard working Dorchester Sports side whose goalkeeper kept this side at 0-0 until the 40th

minute when Matty Neale was slipped in and a deft touch over the advancing keeper saw the Hammers take the lead.

With the fresh team on at the start of the 2nd half, Hamworthy started strongly and scored twice more inside the first 15 mins courtesy of Dan Cann and Cam Munn (a superb chip from the edge of the box). With Dorchester legs tiring, a loose ball about 25yds out was collected by them and they got a deserved goal for their afternoon's efforts. Into the last 10 minutes Dan Cann got his 2nd of the half to confirm a deserved victory on Hamworthy's first outing of the season.

Next up is a visit to Merley Cobham Sport on Tuesday evening.
